Education and Training

Bring your education program to life!  Whether you’re looking for classroom teaching materials or interpretive programs for a museum, historic site, or natural park, we’ll design a program that involves participants in active learning. By applying what they are learning to solve a problem or ‘step into someone else’s shoes,’ participants gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter and connect their own experiences to their new knowledge. We are experienced in designing guided tours, school programs, exhibits, brochures, and teaching materials.

Consultants at Charterfield have designed programs at:

  • Parliament Hill
  • Rideau Hall
  • Mackenzie King Estate
  • Upper Canada Village
  • National Archives
  • Gatineau Park

Our training workshops involve participants in active learning through case studies, problem-solving, and simulations.  We turn your learning objectives into concrete experiences that help participants to gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter while practicing their new skills.

Consultants at Charterfield have presented training workshops ranging from guest lectures at Carleton University and professional development workshops with adult ESL teachers to administrative and technical training for environmental engineers at Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and environmental legislative obligations training for Parks Canada.  We have trained high school mentors, historical interpreters, and Gatineau 55 ski race volunteers.
